The Humpback whales are watches in the litorals of Teacapan and Isabel Island. The hampback whale can dive for up to 30 minutes, but usually last only up to 15 minutes. Humpbacks can dive to a depth of 500-700 feet
Humpbacks are very acrobatic, often jump high out of the water and then slapping the water as they come back down. Sometimes they twirl around while breaching. Breaching may be purely for play or may be used to loosen skin parasites or have some social meaning.

The groups of whale watchers have created concern in recent years over the effect the numerous boats may have on the behavior of this mammals. In response to this concern, local eco-tour operators and federal authorities have established new regulations for any tour operator providing whale watching services.

Permits will be required in order to comply with the requirements of the Federal Norm that will establish guidelines on how to conduct whale watching expeditions.

Whale Watching
